Here's how the pitch probably went--imagine we, those of us at WB and DC, had our very own Iron Man. Except he's a teenage boy, he's the first Latino superhero with his very own franchise and he's got that back crawly things like Spider-Man. He's even also named after a bug.

If the hero sounds familiar to you, you may be thinking of his predecessor Ted Kord who counted himself amongst the ranks amongst the great 90's era Justice League. In fact, there's a little Easter egg homage to him in the trailer. But this time around, it's Jaime Reyes who accidentally gets ahold of of an ancient alien artifact called the Scarab, and then forms a symbiotic relationship with it that grants him incredible powers which uncannily resemble Tony Stark's nanotech.
