Happy corporate-determined fan day to all of you! Why, today is Star Wars Day!
And in honor of the holiday which we all celebrate with gif exchanges and by purchasing limited edition collectibles, we're getting some updates on forthcoming projects.
Creative head Dave Filloni updated Empire Online with this little tidbit: "To me, a theatrical experience has to have a big idea – a monumental moment in the time period that changes what’s happening," Filoni adds. "You’re looking for those moments that define an era, and that’s what the films really should be about – whether it’s characters coming together, or a defining moment."
The still employed Kathleen Kennedy also gave her own update on the Rey movie; "What we’re exploring is the evolution of the Jedi. We’re going very far back, we’re looking at the present, and now we’re moving 15 years after The Rise Of Skywalker."
"The First Order has fallen, the Jedi are in chaos – there’s even a question of how many exist anymore – and Rey’s building the New Jedi Order," she continues, "based on the text that she was given and that Luke imparted on her."
So, all in all, we have very little details and a lot of vagueness. Which probably means they're still firing people...oops, we mean, figuring it out. May the Fourth be with you...?
